How to Play · Chapter 20

Tabletop Mode

For one real table: physical dice, paper sheets and miniatures, with a projected or shared map. The GM runs the app; player phones are optional.

  • For the GM

How to use it

  • Choose Tabletop / In-Person when starting a session, or switch any time from the session toolbar or menu.
  • The dashboard has COMBAT, PARTY, ENCOUNTER, NOTES, MAP and REFERENCE tabs. Tap a creature for Attack, Damage, Heal, Condition and Defeated.

Step by step

  1. Start the session in Tabletop mode.
  2. Add paper characters on the PARTY tab with just the numbers from the sheet.
  3. For each roll choose Roll in App or Enter Physical Roll; type what the die shows.
  4. The app adds modifiers and works out hit or miss, damage, resistances and saves.

Miniature Markers For the GM

  • On the MAP tab, Map Token Display chooses Portrait Tokens or Miniature Markers.
  • A miniature marker is a hollow circle or square where the real miniature stands, with a health ring around it.
  • When a miniature moves on the table, move its marker the same way you move any token, so ranges and fog stay right.
  • Ring Thickness has Projector sizes for a map shown on the table.
  • The map is optional: range and cover chips (In Range, Adjacent, Partial Cover...) work without one.

Private Results For the GM

  • Results for a player without a device appear only to you as PRIVATE RESULT FOR: NAME. Tell them, then tap Told them.

Important rules

  • Digital and Tabletop share one engine and the same data; switching loses nothing.
  • Paper sheets are updated by the player; digital sheets update themselves.

Common questions
